Raymond & Maria
Raymond & Maria is a Swedish pop group . It was founded in 2002 by the male members, Johan, Staffan, Olle and Per. They found Maria and her sister Camilla as singers. The band's first single, Ingen vill veta var du köpt din tröja ("Nobody wants to know where you bought your sweater") was released in 2004 and was number one on the Swedish hit parade for several weeks. In October 2004 the piece was named "Best Swedish Song 2004" by the Swedish Music Publishers Association ( SMFF ).
Career
The music has a simple structure and is usually only instrumented with drums, guitar and voice. The texts stand in relatively strong contrast to the melodiously naive melodies: They come across as calm, resigned and socially critical. For example, her first big hit is about the interchangeable life in today's society, in which no one is interested in the life and real problems of the other, in which everyone has to function. The single "Min pappa" ("My Father") is about how you always put your dreams away and never live them. They keep this style on their second album Hur Mycket Jag Än Tar Finns Alltid Lite Kvar (" No matter how much I take, there is always something over"), which is musically more melodic and was produced more elaborately than the debut album . In addition to guitars and drums, keyboards are also used here.
The band is relatively closed and has decided not to reveal the last names of the members. It is known, however, that Johan Kindblom is the author of the lyrics.
The name of the band comes from an old sex club in Stockholm where you could swap partners.
