Reaction tube

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A reaction tube is a glass flask that is open on both sides and has a diameter of a few millimeters to several centimeters, in which chemical reactions are carried out. The reaction tube is usually made of heat-resistant material, since for reactions that require activation energy, the energy is supplied by heating with the Bunsen burner .

Borosilicate glass is particularly suitable as a material for reaction tubes .
