Rebecca Jo Loeb

Rebecca Jo Loeb is an American mezzo-soprano . The opera singer has been part of the Hamburg State Opera ensemble since 2011 .

Life

Rebecca Jo Loeb studied singing at the Manhattan School of Music and the Juilliard School in New York. She was also a member of the Young Artist Program at Tanglewood Music Center in Massachusetts. In 2008 Loeb - still as a graduate student at the Juilliard School - won first prize in the Lotte Lenya competition of the Kurt Weill Foundation. During her studies she gained her first stage experience in productions at her university and at the Glimmerglass Festival .

In the 2010/11 season Rebecca Jo Loeb was a scholarship holder at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, where she made her debut in The Magic Flute . At the beginning of the 2011/12 season, Rebecca Jo Loeb was engaged as a permanent member of the ensemble of the Hamburg State Opera . Her repertoire includes a. the Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor , Grimgerde in the Valkyrie , the Dryad in Ariadne auf Naxos and the trouser role of Siébel in Faust .
