Reference architecture model Industry 4.0

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The reference architecture model Industry 4.0 , or RAMI 4.0 for short, is a three-dimensional layer model that represents a basic architecture for Industry 4.0 using a sophisticated coordinate system. The reference architecture model RAMI 4.0 was standardized as DIN SPEC 91345.

In addition to the architecture of technical objects (assets) in the form of layers, RAMI 4.0 enables their description, curriculum vitae and assignment to technical or organizational hierarchies. The concept of Industry 4.0 is the creation of rules for the data-technical description along the life cycle and the associated value history of a technical object in the form of the reference architecture model Industry 4.0 (RAMI4.0). It is used to represent this technical object with all its relevant aspects, from its creation through its manufacture and use to its disposal. The Industry 4.0 component that represents it virtually enables access to its technical data description.

The coordinate system of the cubic layer model consists of three axes, which symbolize the three-dimensional space and on which the hierarchy levels of a production plant networked via the Internet, the life cycle of plants and products as well as the IT representation of an Industrie 4.0 component are described. The already established Smart Grid Architecture Model (SGAM), which focuses on energy generation and distribution, served as a template for this.

With RAMI 4.0, a cross-sector model was created that serves as a basis for discussion and creates a common understanding of standards , norms and practical case studies.
