The percussion hammer or reflex hammer is an instrument used in medical diagnostics in the technique of percussion .

Usually a piece of rubber is tapped on the body part to be examined. On the one hand, the resulting different forms of knocking sound are evaluated or the hammer is used to trigger reflexes .

Models

There are different models, most of which are named after the inventor. Some examples are: Joseph Babinski , Bernhard Berliner , Buck, Joseph Jules Dejerine , William Christopher Krauss , Abraham Rabiner , Rossier, John Madison Taylor , Traube, Ernst Trömner .
