Control energy (gas network)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Control energy in the natural gas industry is the gas that is required to compensate for physical differences between feed-in and feed-out in a market area . Balancing group managers are responsible for the balanced management of the balancing groups and thus primarily for avoiding control energy. Any balancing energy requirements that arise are initially covered by the two market area managers (MGVs) through the network buffer of the gas network (internal balancing energy) and, secondarily, balanced centrally and without discrimination through corresponding purchases and sales (external balancing energy).
