Regulatory Information Services

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Regulatory Information Services (RIS) are services for the publication of reportable regulatory messages from listed companies on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The listing rules are defined in the Financial Services Authority (FSA) manual .

RIS providers, so-called primary information providers or regulatory information services, are approved on the basis of criteria set by the FSA. In addition to the approval control, the FSA monitors the Regulated Information Services.

Currently (2010) there are eight primary information providers that are approved by the FSA.

In the USA ThomsonReuters, Business Wire, Marketwire and PR Newswire act as primary information providers, in the UK this is the RNS belonging to the London Stock Exchange . The head office of Cision is in Sweden, that of the EQS Group (formerly EquityStory ) in Germany. Tensid AG Communication Services is the only independent company in Switzerland to be approved by the FSA as a primary information provider.
