As Reimvers is known in the Verslehre by Endreim certain verse forms , in particular that of Otfrid of Weissenburg created Old High German Reimvers ( Otfridvers ) as opposed to Germanic Stabreimvers . The rhyme began to replace the all-in-all from the Carolingian period around 870 and is popular in popular poetry (“ Knittelvers ” actually means “Reimvers”) to this day.
