Reinhard Arndt

Reinhard Arndt or Reinhardt Arndt (born June 4, 1952 in Berlin ) is a former German judoka who competed for the GDR. He won three bronze medals at European championships.

Career

The 1.69 m tall Arndt fought from 1977 in the ultra-light weight class, the weight class up to 60 kilograms. At the European Championships in 1977 in Ludwigshafen, Arndt won his first bronze medal. In the same year he was the first German champion of the GDR. Arndt also won bronze at the European Championships in Helsinki in 1978 . In 1979 he won his second championship title. In 1980 he received his third bronze medal at the European Championships in Vienna .

At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, he won his first fight against the Romanian Arpad Szabó with a coca rating. In his second fight he was defeated by the Mongol Yanjmaagiin Dorj with a Yuko rating.

Arndt was at SC Dynamo Hoppegarten . After his sporting career, Reinhard Arndt initially worked as a trainer at the Berlin Sports School. From 1991 he was employed by the Samura Oranienburg association, where he retired in 2017.
