Reiter are markers or label carrier to provide desired index sheets or cards or folders in drawers to find quickly.

The tabs protrude beyond the sheets or folders. The tabs are therefore very similar to the tabs and also fulfill the same function. In contrast to the tabs, the tabs can be freely moved. Riders can permanently z. B. by riveting or gluing or removable z. B. by sticking with releasable adhesive connection (similar to sticky notes ) or attaching to the base. Often only one tab is used per sheet or folder; to mark several properties, several can be used if necessary. Removable tabs are useful for marking variable features. The tabs can provide information for finding and picking out by their position, shape , lettering and color .

The tabs are often staggered, as the front tabs would otherwise cover the rear.

There are different types of riders. These can basically be self-adhesive or designed to be plugged in. Labeling can also be inserted in window tabs, or tabs that have already been labeled can be used.
