Remember Me to Carolina is a song from the soundtrack of the 1944 film drama Minstrel Man . The song was composed by Harry Revel and the lyrics to Paul Francis Webster . It is sung in the film by Benny Fields , who plays the singing star Dixie Boy Johnson, one of the leading roles in the film. Dixie Boy Johnson dedicated the song to his wife Caroline, who died while giving birth to their daughter, whom he remembers again and again with great sadness.
