Remi hair

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Remi hair (or Remy hair , from French remis , participle of the verb remettre , "to put back" in the sense of "to return to the original state") are strands and parts of real hair for lengthening and thickening hair that meet the following requirements:

  • chemically untreated human hair,
  • the cuticle of the hair used is intact,
  • the cuticle of the individual hair is 100% aligned in the same direction of growth (hair root - hair tip).

The term originally comes from the traditional French wig- making craft of the 17th century. Since human hair has been largely obtained from Asia, the term Remi hair is often misused. The quality requirements mentioned above are rarely met. The most common source of Remi hair in today's hair extension industry is so-called temple hair , because by collecting the mostly untreated Indian hair as a braided plait, the direction of growth can be guaranteed with appropriate further processing.
