Remise (wood)

In the forest and hunting language, a remise is understood to be a group of trees consisting primarily of oaks , which are suitable for use as a shelter for grazing cattle. For example, around 1833, Peter Joseph Lenné laid out groups of trees in the Bornstedter Feldmark in the course of the landscaping beautification of Potsdam .
