Caleb Truax (* 14. September 1983 in Osseo , Minnesota , USA ) is an American professional boxer in the super middleweight and former world champion of the Association IBF . His trainer is Tom Halstad .

Amateur career

Among the amateurs, Turax played 29 fights, of which he won 21. Among other things, he was a participant in the 2006 National Golden Gloves .

Professional career

He made his professional debut on April 6, 2007. Up until his first chance at the World Cup, he had contested 28 fights and won 25 of them. In addition to two draws, he also suffered a defeat against Jermain Taylor in April 2012 . On April 24, 2015, he lost in the fight for the WBA World Championship against Daniel Jacobs . He suffered another defeat in April 2016 against Anthony Dirrell .

On December 9, 2017, he won the fight for the IBF Super Middleweight Championship by majority decision on points against James DeGale . He boxed in London and for the first time outside of the United States. However, he lost the title in a direct rematch on April 7, 2018 in Las Vegas by a unanimous defeat on points.

In April 2019, his fight against Peter Quillin ended with no value in the second round due to an unintentional collision with the heads ( no contest ).
