René G. Perkounig

René G. Perkounig (born May 18, 1978 in Klagenfurt , Austria ) is a traditional European Taekwon-Do grandmaster.

Live and act

As a teenager he received lessons in Taekwon-Do . His training in traditional Taekwon-Do began in 1992 under Grand Master Son Jong-Ho. In 1997 he became deputy Taekwon-Do group leader for self-defense and hand-to-hand combat (Provincial Gendarmeriekommando Kärnten ).

Perkounig acted as a teacher for Taekwon-Do in the Central Dojang of Europe. He also worked as a lecturer for hand-to-hand combat and self-defense at the adult education center, and also as deputy headmaster of the Central Dojang of the International Classic Taekwon-Do Federation of Europe.

In 2000 he traveled to numerous countries as a member of the Europe Demonstration Team and offered Taekwon-Do performances.

In 2004 he was appointed Chief Instruct Director of the Taekwon-Do Center in downtown Vienna by the Classic Taekwon-Do Association. At the same time he was entrusted with the spread and further development of the traditional Taekwon-Do in the north and east of Austria.

In 2005 he founded Taekwon-Do focus groups for self-defense and self-protection training in the Association of Vienna Adult Education Centers. He also organized demonstrations in traditional Taekwon-Do at the Vienna Sports Festival at the Donauinselfest and at public events in Austria, Germany and Italy .

Four years later, the founding of his own Traditional Style Taekwon-Do association with branches, as well as the reopening of the central center in downtown Vienna, became the central theme of his life. In 2008 he also co-founded the International Traditional Taekwon-Do Community and founded Taekwon-Do school groups to promote the psychophysical health of children and adolescents.

The Taekwon-Do system grandmaster spread his message of striving for communication, friendship, understanding and harmony among the Taekwon-Do grandmasters with the help of his cooperation with international associations and the established community. His primary goal is beyond the boundaries of all martial arts systems, the dedication of the mental and technical further education of Dan bearers .

In 2011 he was the technical director of the first Austrian Taekwon-Do course in Vienna. The net proceeds from this event went to charitable purposes.
