René Lezard Mode AG ( own spelling RENÉ LEZARD Mode ) was a German fashion brand founded in 1978 in Schwarzach am Main . The company was founded in 1978 by the clothing engineer Adolf Vetter. It made fashion in the premium segment.

Headquarters of the company René Lezard with over 280 employees was Schwarzach am Main in the district of Kitzingen . The main sales markets were the European countries. René Lezard ran his own shops in several major German cities and department stores , as well as several outlet stores in various regions in Germany, in Salzburg (Austria), and the Netherlands. In addition, the collections were sold through national and international showrooms.

In 2017, the company filed for bankruptcy for the first time . The business operations of René Lezard Mode GmbH were transferred to a new stock corporation, René Lezard Mode AG. 70 percent of the newly issued shares were transferred to the bondholders of René Lezard Mode GmbH, 30 percent to various private investors who at the same time acquired René Lezard's premises in Schwarzach. Isabella Hierl has been CEO since February 15, 2018 . At the beginning of November 2019 it was announced that the company will finally cease business operations in January 2020 after renewed insolvency. No new investor could be found for several months. All remaining employees were given notice, the branches were closed after a sale until the end of January 2020.
