Reptation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reptation (from Latin reptare "crawl") has different meanings:

  • Ground creep , the movement (“rolling” or “creeping”) of sand and fine gravel grains on the surface of the earth as a result of repeated impacts of bouncing sand grains that are blown up by the wind.
  • Reptation (chemistry) , the serpentine movement of a polymer out of a polymer network (diffusion).
