Republic Hospital Kaunas

The Republic Hospital Kaunas ( lit. VšĮ Respublikinė Kauno klinikinė ligoninė ) is a hospital in Kaunas , the second largest city in Lithuania . The legal form after it is Viešoji įstaiga , a 'public body'. It has 1,475 employees.

history

In 1952, the 3rd Kaunas Hospital was founded. A department for internal medicine (with 35 beds) and a department for childhood diseases (with 5 beds) were set up in two former residential buildings. In 1972 it became a clinic.
