Residence of the Zhongwang King of the Heavenly Kingdom of Eternal Peace
The residence of the Zhongwang King of the Heavenly Kingdom of Eternal Peace ( Chinese 太平天国 忠 王府 , Pinyin Tàipíng tiānguó zhōngwáng fǔ ) in Suzhou (Jiangsu) , China, served Li Xiucheng李秀成 (1823–1864), the important military leader of the Taiping Empire who had been given the title of king or Zhongwang (忠王) - known in Western sources under the English name "Loyal Prince Lee" (loyal Prince Li) - since the occupation of the city of Suzhou by his troops in 1860-1863 as a residence.
It has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (1-3) since 1961 .
At the rear of the residence is the famous " garden of the undemanding official " ( Zhuozheng yuan拙政园).
