Residenztheater
A residence theater could be a theater that in until 1918 residence was set up a prince or monarch, see Court Theater . In a broader sense, it could be theaters that were located in a representative bourgeois residence or that made this impression.
As an ironic echo of the residence in the meaning of the seat of government, the name of the Renitenztheater Stuttgart signals resistance ( Renitenz ) instead of loyalty to the government.
