The restado UG (limited) operates an online marketplace for the re-use of building materials in German speaking countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria). It is the first platform in the field of circular economy and urban mining in the construction industry.

history

The company was born from the knowledge that the construction industry is responsible for 60% of the waste, since in Germany around 130 million tons of construction material are disposed of every year in the construction process, although these can be reused. To solve this problem, the online marketplace was initiated to enable the reuse of building materials according to the principles of the circular economy.

The market place was u. a. awarded as one of the 100 best ConTech startups, was a finalist in the Green Alley Award , the largest European competition for companies in the circular economy, and is a winner in the Norwegian Katapult Accelerator Program.

The startup is also named as a pioneer in relevant scientific publications, on best-practice platforms of the EU and United Nations as well as national journals and television.

Business process

Customers are divided into sellers and buyers. Sellers can hire building materials from a demolition project or rendition and buyers can buy them directly. Communication between seller and buyer is initiated using a contact form.
