The large stone grave Verchen was a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Verchen in the Mecklenburg Lake District ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It was destroyed in 1830 for the extraction of building material.

The grave was on the Brandberg, east of the estate between the front and the back pond.

description

The grave consisted of six stones. The floor of the burial chamber was made of sand. No information is available on dimensions and alignment. The type of grave cannot be determined with certainty. Ewald Schuldt and Hans-Jürgen Beier classify the complex as a megalithic grave of an unknown type; in the state monument list it is listed as an extended dolmen . Nothing is known about burial remains. A ceramic vessel ("urn") was found among grave goods.
