Reuss middle line
Middle line Reuss was a rule in the east of today's Free State of Thuringia .
history
In 1564, due to the succession, the Reuss rulership was divided into the dominions Untergreiz ( Reuss older line ), Obergreiz (Reuss middle line) and Gera ( Reuss younger line ). In 1596 the Schleiz rule also fell to the middle line. But already in the year 1616 the middle line died out, and its area was divided between the two other lines, the rule Obergreiz came to the older line and the rule Schleiz to the younger line.
