Revierpark Nienhausen
The Revierpark Nienhausen is a park in Gelsenkirchen . The approximately 30 hectare Revierpark was opened in 1972 and is located west of the city center in the Feldmark district on the city limits of Essen - Katernberg . The Revierpark is operated by Revierpark Nienhausen GmbH, founded in 1969, in which the Regionalverband Ruhr holds 50% and the cities of Gelsenkirchen and Essen each hold 25%.
Health and leisure offers
The offers include the maintenance of a 30 hectare park area, the operation of an open-air and wave pool (summer season) and a large sauna and brine facility. The facility offers nine saunas, a wellness area with massage and cosmetic treatments and various relaxation options. The sauna and brine area regularly counts over 210,000 visitors per year. The sports and health center of the Essen Sports Association offers a variety of sports and health courses, as well as a studio with a view of the park. In the adjoining physiotherapy practice there is the possibility of being treated with a doctor's prescription. The park landscape, which is open all year round, features old trees, walking paths and meadows, several playgrounds, a basketball court, a water playground and a mini golf course. The seminar center offers various rooms for holding conferences and company events.
Realignment to the health park
From mid-2009 to the end of 2011, as part of a realignment of the company towards the Nienhausen health park, the individual operating areas were extensively expanded and converted. Since then, visitors have had the opportunity to take advantage of nine offers: sauna and brine, sport and health through the Essen City Sports Association with additional physiotherapy, wellness area, outdoor pool, gastronomy, seminar center and park.
