Rheingau flute

The Rheingau Flute or Rheingau Flute is a special form of the wine bottle in which only quality wine from the Rheingau is bottled.

The 750 ml bottle is made of dark blue-green glass and, at 35 centimeters, is significantly higher than other wine bottles. It has a slim shape with embossed vertical edges on the bottle neck and a bead as a drip edge on the bottle opening. It has been propagated by the Rheingauer Weinbauverband in recent years in order to enhance the Rheingau wine brand and make it unmistakable.

Trivia

The municipality of Oestrich-Winkel has set up a hiking trail that is named after the Rheingau flute. The Flötenweg leads through the vineyards of all parts of the city from Oestrich-Winkel to Johannisberg Castle . Every year on the first weekend after Whitsun, the Flötenweg hiking experience takes place.
