Rhenish Minnesang

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first high phase of medieval courtly love poetry in the (medium-high) German- speaking area from approx. 1170 to 1190/1200 is called Rhenish Minnesang . It is also called the Hausen School after its leading representative Friedrich von Hausen .

Other representatives of this direction are - in addition to Emperor Heinrich VI. - Bligger von Steinach , Bernger von Horheim and Ulrich von Gutenburg . It is assumed that these poets were connected to the Stauferhof . Influences of the Trobador and Trouvèr lyric are recognizable in structure and subject matter.

structure

In contrast to the first (early) phase of the Minne Lyric (1150 / 60–1170), the songs of the Rhenish minnesong consist of several (mostly tunnel ) stanzas.
