Rheometer

Rheometer (from Greek rheos, flow) stands for:

  • a measuring device that is used to determine the deformation and flow behavior of matter, see rheometry
    • a special rheometer for the investigation of shear deformations, also the most frequently used rheometer type, see shear rheometer
    • a special rheometer for the investigation of tensile deformation, see extensional rheometer
    • a special rheometer for examining bending deformations, see bending beam rheometer
  • an outdated term for an ammeter, see galvanometer
