Rhoikos (Centaur)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rhoikos ( Greek  Ῥοῖκος ) is a centaur in Greek mythology . He and his friend Hylaeus planned to desecrate Atalante and went through the woods with torches at night. They tore off branches and made garlands with them. In their arrogance they set the forest on fire. However, Atalante did not keep this secret. As they neared her cave, she killed them with her bow.

It is believed that Rhoikos is identical to the Centaur Rhoetus .
