The Ricosta Schuhfabriken GmbH is a German children's shoe manufacturer based in Donaueschingen .

General

Since Roland Rieker founded the company in 1969, it has been an owner-managed family business. Ralph Rieker, managing partner since April 1996, is also chairman of the Main Association of the German Shoe Industry (HDS). The company produces in Germany, Hungary, Romania and Poland, employs around 660 people and, according to its own information, has an annual production of around 2 million pairs of children's shoes (as of 2009). By February 2009, 70 million Ricosta shoes “went” all over the world. In 1999 the company introduced environmental management in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001. All production sites in Donaueschingen, Hungary, Poland and Romania have been certified according to this standard since 2012.

WMS

Ricosta is a licensee of the width measurement system WMS (W = wide, M = medium, S = narrow), which not only takes the length of the foot into account but also its width. The WMS also contains a seal of approval issued by the Federal Association of the German Shoe Industry.
