Norbert Göttler (born August 9, 1959 in Dachau ) is a German publicist , writer , television director , member of the German PEN center and district home nurse of Upper Bavaria .

Live and act

Norbert Göttler grew up in Gut Walpertshofen north of Dachau, studied philosophy , theology (Dipl.) And history in Munich and received his doctorate in 1988. phil. in economic and social history. He works as a freelance journalist for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , as a writer for various publishers (Rowohlt, dtv, Ehrenwirth, Lübbe) and as a television director for the broadcasters BR , ARD , 3sat and arte .

From 2000 to 2012, Göttler was a lecturer in science journalism at the University of Philosophy in Munich . In 2013 he took on a visiting professorship at Tulane University, New Orleans (USA). Since 2012 he has been a full-time district home nurse for the district of Upper Bavaria . Göttler is a member of the German and German-Swiss PEN Club, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (Salzburg), the Munich Press Club and the literary association “ Münchner Turmschreiber ”, of which he was co-president from 2000 to 2011. Göttler has been an editorial member of the journal Literatur in Bayern since 2012 .
