topography
From a topographical point of view, the highest point in the Dachau district is 557 m above sea level. NHN in Biberecker Holz not far from Kreuzholzhausen.
history
Emergence
A brick factory was operated in the Eisolzried part of the municipality during Roman times, probably in the 1st century AD. The Urbar von Bergkirchen (842 AD) gives an insight into the organization of a court in the middle of the 9th century.
development
Incorporations
On May 1, 1978, the previously independent communities Eisolzried, Feldgeding, Lauterbach and Oberbachern were dissolved and assigned to the Bergkirchen community along with parts of the dissolved communities Günding and Kreuzholzhausen.
Population development
Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 5,218 to 7,770 by 2,552 inhabitants or 48.9%.

mayor
Robert Axtner (CSU) has been the first mayor since 2020. In the local elections in 2020, he was elected to the mayor's office with 94.11% of the valid votes. Robert Axtner had previously been a member of the municipal council since 2014 and was the 3rd mayor of the Bergkirchen municipality from 2014 to 2020.
Since 2020, the deputies of the 1st mayor have been the 2nd mayor Dagmar Wagner and the 3rd mayor Johann Groß (both WG Eisolzried-Lauterbach-Kreuzholzhausen).
