Ridge A is a place in Antarctica that Australian and US researchers working with Will Saunders described in 2009 as "the coldest, driest and at the same time the quietest place in the world".

The course is about 4000 m above sea level at 81.5 degrees south and 73.5 degrees east. The average temperature there in winter is −70 ° Celsius, the water content of the air is negligible.

The High Elevation Antarctic Terahertz (HEAT) telescope has been on Ridge A since January 2012. It is a small telescope used by American and Australian astronomers.
