Robert Acuña

Robert Acuña is an American painter , he lives and works in Los Angeles .

Life

Born and raised as the son of Mexican immigrants in Los Angeles, he studied art at Otis College of Art and Design , Los Angeles, (1997 Bachelor Fine Art (BFA)) and at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas , (2000 Master Fine Art (MFA)). Classically trained there in painting, Acuña has now developed an abstract, captivatingly elegant visual language that is shaped by the California lifestyle . His graphic silhouettes, into which he works glittering metal particles and fluorescent paints, are not only atmospheric, but also stylistically influenced by American advertising, the glamor of Hollywood and the pop art of the West Coast.
