Robert Christian Schmidt is a German economist .

Life

In 2003 he obtained the M.Sc. in Economics from University College London . In 2008 he completed his doctorate (reviewers: Ulrich Kamecke and Roland Strausz ) in economics at the Humboldt University in Berlin . After completing his habilitation in 2015 at the Humboldt University in Berlin , he was an interim professor at the University of Cologne from 2016 to 2017 . In 2017 he was a Heisenberg fellow (funded by the DFG ). From 2017 to 2018 he taught as a professor at the Chair of Economics, in particular Resource and Energy Economics, University of Kaiserslautern . Since 2018 he has been a professor at the Chair of Economics, especially Microeconomics, at the FernUniversität Hagen .

His research interests are applied microeconomics; Areas of interest: climate change economics, political economy; B. a game-theoretical analysis of international climate cooperation, the taxation of carbon, the regulation of environmental incentives, the relocation of carbon, technological change, strategic environmental policy, election campaigns and climate policy.
