Chapel of St. Rochus

The St. Roch Chapel is a chapel in the Neuburg district of the Koblach community . It was built between 1630 and 1632 after a great plague epidemic raged in the area. In 1750 the chapel was enlarged.

A plaque was placed under the porch above the portal, on which Saint Roch and Saint Sebastian are depicted. Due to the weather, the panel had to be renovated several times and moved inside the chapel.

The inscription on the board, partly overwritten and supplemented several times, reads:

“In the 1632 year this chapel was built together with this daffel and let God almighty praise and honor, so our forefathers in the best or laid-back addiction, if one promised and on the vow has subsided as if God wants to keep us safe and keep amen. In 1750 this chapel was enlarged. This board was renovated in 1911. "

One of the oldest depictions of Neuburg Castle (now the ruins of Neuburg ) can also be seen on the board .
