The Rock'n'Roll Club Sixteen Luzern (RRC Sixteen) is a dance sport club based in Lucerne (CH) , which operates the tournament sport of rock 'n' roll and show dancing. The RRC Sixteen is a member of the Swiss Rock 'n' Roll Confederation (SRRC).

history

The Rock'n'Roll Club Sixteen Luzern was founded in 1987 in Eich (LU) . There were 16 founding members, from which the club name is derived: Sixteen. The founding president was Othmar Amrein.

successes

The Rock'n'Roll Club Sixteen Luzern had the greatest successes in formation dancing in 1999 and 2000 as world champion in the quattro class (four couples). In 2000 and 2006, the club achieved the vice world championship title in the master class (six to eight couples).

  • 2005: Böblingen (D), Rock'n'Roll World Cup of Formations, 3rd place in Master Class
  • 2006: Baar (CH), Rock'n'Roll World Cup of Formations, Vice World Champion Master Class
  • 2010: Munich (D), Rock'n'Roll World Cup for Formations, 5th place in the Master Class

At the same time, the club has been Swiss champion in formation dancing many times since 1993 .

Honors

  • 2000: Lucerne Sports Prize, Sports Association of the Canton of Lucerne
  • 2000: Central Swiss Sportsman of the Year, 2nd place among the teams

The X6 logo arose from the following considerations: X (for the Roman number 10) plus 6 = 16 (sixteen). In addition, the x is embedded in the name Sixteen.

The RRC Sixteen is the organizer of various competitions and entertainment evenings:
