The Rock al Parque Festival is an annual music festival in Bogotá , Colombia that takes place over three days in the middle of the year. At this music event, founded in 1994, around 85,000 people come to the Parque Metropolitano Simón Bolívar every day . In 2018 it took place from August 18.

A group of musicians formed Rock al Parque in 1994 to promote tolerance and inclusion through music. It's been free since its second year. The concept is now part of Colombia's cultural heritage. It is coordinated under the auspices of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes (IDARTES), a municipal authority of Bogotá that reports to the capital's district secretariat for culture, recreation and sports.

It is considered the largest rock festival in Colombia and one of the most important in Latin America , arguably the largest free rock festival on the continent. Ska , punk , hardcore , metal and other genres are included in his program. Two Colombian radio stations, Canal Capital and Radiónica, are streaming the concert and the organizers are further promoting the festival through live web broadcasts and social media.

Many international groups are regularly invited; there are also Colombian bands and local artists from Bogotá. The local musicians either play live or contribute to the festival's discography. Less established groups also have the chance to take part in the rock events. An organizing committee sponsors a band competition each year and selects 30 winners from a field of hundreds of candidates.
