Rodrigo Roncero (born February 16, 1977 in Buenos Aires ) is a no longer active Argentine rugby union player . He played as a pillar for Stade Français and the Argentine national team .

Roncero made his debut for the national team against Japan in 1999 . At that time he was playing in Argentina for the Deportiva Francesa club . In 2002 he decided to pursue a professional career and moved to the English club Gloucester RFC . Since then he has been a regular member of the Argentine squad and was nominated for the 2003 World Cup , where he was used in two games. He then moved to Stade Français in France .

At the 2007 World Cup , Roncero was in all games in Argentina and contributed to the fact that the team surprisingly reached third place. Since that tournament he has been considered one of the best players in the world in his position.
