Rogatekirche (Munich)
The Rogatekirche is an Evangelical Lutheran church in Munich-Ramersdorf . The parish was founded in 1963.
The church center was designed by the Berlin architect Werner Eichberg . The church building, made of exposed brick masonry, consisting of the church, community rooms, apartments and tower, is arranged in an almost square shape around an inner courtyard. This castle character of the building was supposed to symbolize a place of security and refuge in the post-war period. The longitudinal church space is characterized by a canopy-like roof structure resting on four concrete supports with a surrounding ribbon of windows. The building has been a listed building since 1999.
From 2014 the Rogatekirche will be converted into the Protestant youth church in Munich.
As part of the preparation of the parish merger , Revelation Church and Rogate Church have formed a joint parish with a parish association since summer 2017. The two parishes merged in 2018 to form the parish "Sophie Scholl"; on December 2, 2018, the first joint church council was introduced. Before the merger, Rogate was the smallest Protestant community in Munich with 1200 members.
