Rogers plan

The Rogers Plan was a peace proposal presented by the then US Secretary of State William P. Rogers on December 9, 1969 to end the state of war in the Middle East that had persisted since the Six Day War . The basis of the proposal was u. a. the Resolution 242 of the UN Security Council .

Both sides of the war rejected the plan.

In June 1970, Rogers put forward a proposal for a truce , sometimes referred to as the Rogers Second Plan . The proposal was accepted by Egypt and Israel . In Israel, the Gachal party of Menachem Begin resigned from the government of Golda Meir .
