Pipe socket

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pipe socket is a short piece of pipe on z. B. containers , tanks or pipelines . Pipe sockets can also be provided with a flange connection. To compensate for the weakening of the container wall as a result of the cutout, the pipe socket can compensate for this weakening by increasing the wall thickness . The pipes or equipment can then be connected to the existing pipe socket on site by welding or a flange connection.
