Roland Froescher

Roland Fröscher (* 1977 in Belp , Switzerland) is a Swiss euphonium soloist .

Live and act

After training as a primary school teacher , he studied euphonium at the Bern and Lausanne Conservatories in Roger Bobo's class . Completion of the teaching diploma in summer 2002 with the title “with distinction”. At the same time he studied School Music II at the University of Bern . In summer 2005 he completed the soloist diploma “with distinction” in Thomas Rüedi's class , as well as the orchestra direction diploma with Dominique Roggen .

Appearances as a guest soloist with various formations; Symphony orchestras, brass bands as well as symphonic wind orchestras. Concert appearances have taken him to various European countries as well as Canada and the USA, where he occasionally acts as a lecturer at various universities.

Not only as a soloist, but also as a chamber musician, with the renowned tuba quartet Les Tubadours and the concert pianist Jean-Jacques Schmid , Roland Fröscher has a lively concert career. He also plays as a solo euphonist in the Brass Band Berner Oberland.

In addition to his work as conductor of the brass band Rapperswil-Wierezwil , Roland Fröscher teaches euphonium at the Gürbetal music school and as an assistant lecturer at the Bern University of the Arts .
