Role play (simulation)

Role-playing games to simulate a conversation or conflict between two or more people are often carried out by companies, e.g. B. for training purposes or to get a realistic assessment of how the applicant for a particular job would cope with a typical situation for the respective job.

For this purpose, sales talks , employee discussions, customer complaints and planning meetings are usually simulated. The applicants will be given some briefing documents 5 to 10 minutes before the start of the role play. The actual exercise takes about 10 to 15 minutes. During the role play, the applicant is then confronted with a conflict situation that makes it almost impossible for him to complete the task. In this stressful situation, the evaluators assess whether the test candidate has enough empathy, persuasiveness, adaptability, conflict-ability, assertiveness, rhetorical skills and suitable strategies to cope with the conflict situation.

A special form of simulation are management simulation games in which complex management and work processes are simulated. The participants train real management tasks such as agreeing goals, passing on information, delegating tasks and making decisions, organizing work processes, exercising control, motivating and promoting employees and coping with stress and conflicts with confidence. The work results can be related to the behavior of managers and employees very well in terms of quantity, quality and cost.
