Roma Žakaitienė
Roma Dovydėnienė-Žakaitienė (born December 2, 1956 in Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian lawyer and politician .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1975 at Didždvaris , she completed her law degree in 1981 at Vilnius University . From 1981 to 1986 she was a lawyer at a children's hospital .
From 1996 to 2008 she was a member of the Seimas for three consecutive terms and was appointed Minister of Culture from 2001 to 2004 during the government of Algirdas Brazauskas . From 2006 to 2008 she was Minister of Education under Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas .
In addition, Roma Dovydėnienė-Žakaitienė was a member of the Šiauliai Municipality Council in 2000 .
