Rosedale (Toronto Subway)

Rosedale is an above-ground subway station in Toronto . It lies on the Yonge-University line of the Toronto Subway , at the intersection of Yonge Street and Crescent Road. The station is used by an average of 5,980 passengers every day (2015).

Despite the proximity to the city center and the possibility of changing to three bus routes, Rosedale is one of the least frequented stations on the network, due to the low density of buildings in the surrounding affluent district. The station is located in a cut and has side platforms that can be reached via two pedestrian bridges. It opened on March 30, 1954, along with the Union - Eglinton section , the oldest subway on Canadian soil. The station building, designed by John B. Parkin , has been a municipal monument since 1990.
