Rotax 125 MAX

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rotax 125 MAX is a two-stroke engine series for karts with a displacement of 125 cm³ from Rotax, a brand of the Austrian engine manufacturer BRP-Powertrain GmbH & Co KG .

history

The Rotax MAX was introduced in 1998. According to Rotax, around 70,000 engines from the MAX engine family have been sold to date. The engine series consists of different models that differ in their performance. It is characteristic that these were developed according to the "engine-for-life" concept. This allows a motor to be easily upgraded to the next power level configuration.

Engine models

The different models include:

125 Micro MAX :

  • 5 kW / 6.8 PS at 6,500 rpm
  • Recommended for children between 8 and 10 years of age

125 Mini MAX :

  • 10 kW / 13.6 PS at 8,500 rpm
  • recommended for children between 10 and 13 years of age

125 Junior MAX :

  • 15 kW / 20.4 hp at 8,500 rpm
  • for juniors from 13 to 16 years

125 MAX :

  • 21 kW / 28 hp at 11,500 rpm
  • Recommended for drivers aged 15 and over

Based on the engine-for-life evolution concept, from the entry-level model 125 Micro MAX to the 125 MAX, a model can be gradually upgraded to a more powerful one by replacing just a few components.

125 MAX DD2 :

  • 24 kW / 32.6 hp at 11.750 rpm
  • Recommended for drivers aged 15 and over
