The Rotter Nemere or Nemere was a Hungarian glider that flew in the demonstration sport of gliding at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.

history

Lajos Rotter

The Hungarian aircraft designer Lajos Rotter directed the construction of the Nemere from January 1936. He also carried out the maiden flight on July 25, 1936; after just one more test flight, the glider was brought to Berlin on a transport trailer.

construction

The superstructure essentially consisted of a wooden frame construction, the fuselage being planked with plywood and the wings being covered with fabric.

use

On August 12th, Lajos Rotter flew with the Nemere from Berlin-Staaken to Kiel. The registered flight of 326.5 kilometers in 3 hours and 53 minutes marked the European annual best in cross-country flights for 1936.
