Round turn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A round turn ( Engl. Most round turn ) is a process in which two subtasks close like a circle.

  • In finance, a roundturn is used to describe a completed transaction in which something was bought and sold again. The two individual actions are called Halfturn . This term is especially common in the stock exchange business , especially in futures transactions , because turnaround times of days or even minutes are not uncommon and the interest in the underlying is particularly low in relation to the interest in making a profit.
  • In computer technology, roundturn can be used to describe processes in which data is transferred to another system and back to the origin. This term is particularly common in software tests . Interfaces at which a transformation (translation) takes place in another format can be tested very well by transferring data and having it transferred back again (from the interface counterpart). Ideally, this data should then be unchanged. This can be compared visually with translating a German text into a foreign language and translating it back without knowing the original text. It also makes it clear that having completely identical text can in many cases be a difficult goal to achieve.
