Ruedo Ibérico

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ruedo Ibérico (German: Iberian Arena ) was a Spanish-language publisher that was founded in Paris in 1961. It was supposed to give Spanish opponents of Franquism , both exiles and oppositionists in Spain, the opportunity to publish their works. The name of the publisher refers to the eponymous cycle of novels by Ramón María del Valle-Inclán , in which the situation in Spain in the 19th century was presented critically.

The publisher awarded a literary prize of the same name and published a magazine called Cuadernos de Ruedo Ibérico .
