Lap competition

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A lap competition (abbreviated RWK ) is a form of competition for shooting clubs . Regardless of the weapon discipline , it is held from district levels to federal levels within one competition season.

Competition mode

Club teams take part in round competitions. Depending on the performance level, competitions are held at district, district, state or federal level. Within a club it can happen that, depending on the level of performance, teams compete in all association levels. The competition season is not always identical to the competition year, which begins on January 1st. The round competition season usually starts on October 1st.

Up to and including the district class, teams consist of four marksmen from one weapon discipline. From the district league, teams with five participants compete. These teams are set up for the different age groups (or open class, where all shooters of a weapon discipline can compete) of a weapon discipline. Within the competition season, the teams must now compete against teams from other shooting clubs until all match pairs of the respective discipline (and possibly age group) have been completed. Since the teams have to drive “in a round from one club to the other”, the term “round competition” has emerged from this. At the lower association levels, the teams are usually grouped into different performance-like groups by the respective round competition management and sorted into the groups in such a way that the driving distances are not too long.

After completing the regular competitions, a ranking was established in the respective competition group. The winners of the different groups must now determine the respective winning team in the weapon discipline in a final shooting. The winners of a competition class move up to the next higher competition class - the last group move down to the next lower (if any) competition class.
